How Did H.B. 1329 become Ch. 205-332 L.O.F.
Ch. 205-332 L.O.F. amends the Tampa Port Authority Enabling Act to increase the number of Port Authority Commissioners from 5 to 7, with the requirement that two Commissioners have maritime industry background and that these Commissioners be selected by the Governor from nominations made by a Nominating Committee defined in the law. This amendment was proposed jointly by the PTMIA and Propeller Club of Tampa. Rep. Ed. Homan (District 60) sponsored the bill. The bill was first presented to the Hillsborough County Legislative Delegation as "Local Bill 03." After unanimous approval by the Hillsborough County Legislative Delegation the bill became H. B. 1329. After being reported favorably out of the Local Government Committee in March, it was approved by the Florida House of Representatives, sent to the Florida Senate in messages and approved by the Senate. On June 10, 2005 Governor Bush signed H.B. 1329 into law and it became Ch. 2005-332 L.O.F.
